A fruit storage facility with a capacity of 10.5 thousand tonnes opened in the Slavyansk district

The facility was built as part of an investment agreement signed by the Krasnodar region administration and Privolye agro-industrial company at SPIEF-2023. Andrei Korobka, the vice-governor, participated in the opening ceremony.

"Krasnodar Region is the main producer of fruits and berries in the country. Nearly 70% of the fruit and berries in the Southern Federal District is cultivated by our farmers, who also contribute to one-third of the nation’s overall production. This year we have achieved a historic production record, 660,000 tonnes, which is almost three times as much as 10 years ago. A significant part of the crop was produced in the Slavyansk district. The fruit is 100 per cent ours, it is harvested in orchards grown from local seedlings," said Andrei Korobka.

The vice-governor added that it was important for Kuban fruit to be available all year round for residents and visitors to the region. To this end, fruit storage facilities are being built in the region. Only a year and a half has passed since the document on the construction of the fruit storage facility was signed and it was put into operation, and its total capacity now exceeds 400,000 tonnes, enabling it to store more than half of the entire Kuban fruit harvest.

The modern complex with a regulated gas environment is designed for one-time storage of 10.5 thousand tons of fruit, and is now ready to provide quality products to Kuban and to other parts of Russia, supplying fruit to retail chains. The facility is equipped with machinery for the sorting, packing and processing of 12 tonnes of fruit per hour.
